Day 9: Bamboo(2310m) - Jinhu(1780m)
A big change of scenery today as we left the upper Modi Khola valley and the protected area and returned to more peopled villages and trekkers’ bakeries. After two straight days of descending, my knees were giving me a lot of trouble and I was very glad for my makeshift walking stick to steady myself on the way down. Our stop for the night—Jinhu—also has some hot springs down by the river, so me, Binod, Ganesh and a few other travellers had our first hot shower in about 5 days in shared communal, al-fresco glory.

After another fine dinner of Dhal Baht, the guides, porters and guesthouse owner got down to a great evening of dancing and singing; you could tell it was time to relax after a relatively tiring few days walking.
