These guys are the vans, lorries, trucks of the Himalayas. Anything that has to go into (or out of) the hills and valleys of the region is carried in by hand. On my short trip there I saw chickens (about a dozen each, plus cages), eggs, camping gas, stoves, refrigerators and these timber beams that were being hewn from the forest. By my very rough estimate these were about 15’ x 8” x 6” and probably weighed about 200 pounds. This guy was slowly, steadily maneuvering this beam up the hillside.
